Chassis assembly

Chassis assembly

Ever shorter development cycles, flexible production models and changing demands of agile production require increasingly adaptable special machines and systems for reliable and high-quality chassis assembly.

The chassis:

Indispensable for every car – whether conventional drive or in the field of e-mobility

Whether axle carrier, wishbone, wheel carrier, etc . – We assemble the necessary components on the front and rear axle. Whether gasoline, diesel or electric engine – take advantage of our many years of experience in the assembly of chassis components.

Screwing, pressing, testing, labeling, etc. – We carry out the necessary work steps according to customer specifications.

The installation situation in the assembly hall, the required cycle time and the desired degree of automation determine the selected machine concept. Our portfolio ranges from manual workstations to partially and fully automated individual stations to completely interlinked assembly lines.

The individual assembly steps are mainly interlinked via workpiece carrier circulation systems (WTS), automated guided vehicles (AGV) or by handling robots.

Manually loaded or by load carrier? – The components to be assembled are fed in as bulk material in the lift-step conveyor, manually loaded on a magazine rotary table or position-defined in the load carrier, located if necessary, removed and further processed. If necessary, the components are wetted with oil or grease, the rotary position is aligned, type differences are detected (camera technology) and/or the data matrix code (DMC) is read. Component Pre-Assembly

Axle carrier, control arm, wheel carrier, pivot bearing…

The use of rubber bearings in front or rear axles has a significant influence on the driving characteristics of the vehicle.

Depending on the customer’s specifications, we mount the required rubber bearings (spring link bearings, transmission bearings, chassis bearings, engine bearings) on a block or to size. In most cases, press-fitting is carried out electromechanically using NC joining technology and force-displacement monitoring.

Pre-Assembly
Cornermodule

The cornermodule forms the wheel suspension.

Various components are required to complete the Cornermodule. On the steering knuckle, for example, the wheel bearing, wheel hub, cover plate, bushings, cup joint, axle journal, rubber bearing, ABS sensor, struts, shock absorber strut, brake disc and brake caliper are mounted.

Axle Module

Complete axis or only partial circumferences – you decide.

During front axle or rear axle assembly, various components and subassemblies, such as the axle beam, cornermodule, stabilizer, control arm, coupling rod, steering unit, wiring harnesses, coolant hoses, electronic components and various small parts are brought together.
